Prevent Greasy Hair

How To Prevent Greasy Hair

Preventing greasy hair can be quite a nightmare. At this point, I’m sure you’ve already tried many different things. From different shampoos, to different home remedies. In this article, we will use some methods on how to prevent greasy hair.

Using Dry Shampoo

While this may not actually be a preventative method, it is very much a coping method. It’s important to try dry shampoo as it easily copes with the grease. There are many different dry shampoo’s that work. It’s simple to use; simply spray a small amount of the can 10 inches from your hair, then brush out the white powder. I like to carry a small dry shampoo with me in my handbag, for those greasy hair emergencies.l'oriel

Oil Specific Shampoo

There a few brands of shampoo that are specifically targeted towards people with greasy hair. L’Oreal Pure Resource shampoo is simple the daddy of them all. It’s really magnificent at targeting the grease and leaving hair looking bouncy afterwards. Look for products that use tea tree oil and natural ingredients. Tea tree oil is a brilliant fighter against the grease. Check out our article on the best shampoo for oily hair.

Home Remedies

There are many home remedies that one could try. Lemon juice has excellent, proven results on how to prevent greasy hair. It’s simple to use; mix a few squeezes of lemon into a small glass of water. After you’ve shampooed your hair, simply massage the lemon juice throughout your hair. Rinse thoroughly.

Vinegar is also a home mix one could create. Baring in mind it will smell horrible! But the results are definitely worth it. Put two tablespoons of vinegar in a small glass of water, stir well. After you’ve shampooed your hair, massage the vinegar mix throughout your hair, make sure to rinse thoroughly!

Remember to always drink atleast 2.5 litres of water everyday. I know this may not seem like a necessary step, but hydration is forever important and some experts believe that a hydrated body can lead to cleaner, grease free hair.
